Went in for a simple tire swap, few weeks later i feel a horrible wobble and turns out my rear driver side wheel was hanging on by a thread. Jacked it up myself to retorque it and it fell right off. Not only is every single lug bolt loose but 3 are missing. I'm lucky i caught this issue before i got on the highway and potentially get fatally injured or worse someone else. Was a kid around the age 20 working on my car. Absolutely unbelievable.
These guys are decent and honest. My wife brought her car to Active Green and Ross in Bradford to get a safety inspection done before gifting the car to our neighbors son. Active Green and Ross tried to squeeze us for $2,700 for made up work, claiming that the brake pads, rotors and calipers all needed to be replaced, among other things... Except we had changed the brake pads, rotors and calipers 1 year prior. We then brought our car to Master Mechanic in Newmarket, and not only did they take us that same day, the only issue that they identified was that the tint was too dark on the front windows. After removing the tint, the car passed it's inspection. These guys saved us a good chunk of change and frankly allowed our neighbors son to have a safe car.
I started to go to this location last year to do my seasonal tire swap. I thought the folks there were nice, but the service was a little pricey. I figured since the folks were nice, and it was a local establishment I would give them my future business. This year, I scheduled my seasonal tire swap and an oil change. I was surprised to find that since my last oil change (with Master Mechanic a few months prior, I had developed the need for 2 control arms, a front bearing, and full rear brakes. The quote was for $2700. Yup, quite the price tag. I wasn't sure how any of this was not detected at the previous oil change, so I thought I would get another opinion. I took my car to another shop in Newmarket. I paid for a full inspection of brakes, steering components, suspension, the whole deal. They provided me photos and recommendations as part of their inspection with an electronic report. All was FINE! The only recommendation was a tune up (mileage related recommended service) and a burnt out license plate light. So, instead of paying Master Mechanic $2700...it cost me $76. I don't know who's eyes they were trying to pull the wool over, but I will not be going back to this location. I am seriously disappointed that they would try to gouge a customer in this way. It is just dishonest. Scrutinize their recommendations if you choose to get work done here. It will cost you if you don't.
After being referred to this shop by a friend I was very disappointed with this location and treatment given. The gentleman behind the desk gave me a hard time and didn't want to help me with a fairly simple fix on my vehicle because I wouldn't allow him to provide parts that I already had !!!! 1 rotor which i couldn't get off due to the emergency brake grabbing and some wheel studs that were broken. It's good to know that making money on parts off of customers is more important than providing good service and building a decent repore within the community. I called afew mechanic shops in the area after this and was told that they would gladly assist me with repairing and with the parts supplied. Long story short I own 5 cars and would have gladly given all my business to this shop but due to greed lost all my business completely. Im sure others have amazing outcomes dealing with Master Mechanic Newmarket however I wasn't one of them and why I will gladly never go back or refer this company to anyone I know. Word travels fast and just happens to be my reviews go along way with Google ontop of word of mouth. My purpose here isn't to bad mouth anyone but educate others on my experiences within certain companies and or products
4 hours of labour took these people 3 weeks to complete the work. And when I got my truck back had to take to another mechanic to fix the problem. Plus the receptionist Leia has an attitude problem.
Always get amazing service here and way cheaper than taking my car to the dealership! Dealership quoted me nearly $1500 and these guys fixed my car for around $200. Highly recommended!!!!
The guys there are great. They know what they're talking about and they let me know when something is not right with my vehicles. It's always a no hassle experience and the pricing is good.
