The labour and delivery department is just amazing. The doctor and nurses are kind and caring. I spent a total of a week there ( broken up by two days ) and I never had any problems with anyone. Just two little things the could be improved: I was not on a npo ( nothing by mouth ) and it took ages to get any food. Thankfully my mother was able to track down my o.b, who made sure I got something to eat. Private rooms go very quick here. I had told finance, registration and registration again when I got up stairs. I was put into a semi private room, post delivery. It was okay but wished for a little more privacy. Don't have a baby in July, its the busiest month I was told.
This review is written with mixed opinions the mix is the people. As with most places and people we deal with you will always find a bad apple in every bunch, many of the nurses and Dr here are good some are even beyond exceptional but in a hospital it only takes one bad apple to cause greater risk to life or injury. As a patient here at the moment I was woken up to the sound of a IV alarm (loud beep beep over and over again) at 5:50 am. I got up and went to the washroom, as I went past my door I noticed a care giver sitting on a chair just out side our door tapping on her phone. I waited until 6:10 and looked out of the door, she was still sitting there with her phone at which time I asked her if she was going to ignore this alarm for another 20 minutes I got a disgusted look from her as I waited for her to start to move she shut off the alarm and strolled off down the hall. 5 minutes later the alarm was going off again I waited 5 more minutes then I went down the hall to the nurse's station to see if I could hear the alarm, and I could easily hear it myself from the station so that is not an excuse for it to keep going on and on. I again asked if someone was going to check the alarm and again one came to the room and shut it off. Again 5 minutes later the alarm went off (getting to be very annoying sound) this time I looked at the IV machine to see if there was a message about the alarm it said air detected ( possible embolism situation) again I complained about the lack of response and asked to have the machine checked finally after a hour they fixed the air problem. In the week I have been here I have noticed other rudeness as well as verbal abuse to to my roommate. Although I don't like to be a finger pointer I feel that you could use my experience of one issue. Again I wish to convey that not all of the staff is bad, some of the girls are awesome but...
They've been lying about my diagnosis and prescribing me the wrong drugs to fudge up some medical documents. The staff here would not let me out of the hospital and refused to pay for my transportation fees back despite the fact that the police dragged me there without my wallet and against my will without reasonable cause. The nursing staff here drugged me against my will. When I ended up at the hospital due to the incessant abuse of my family members they ended up taking my abuser's side and disregarding anything I had to say.The staff here have been lying about me.This hospital works in sync with the police force. If you'd like you can pay these people off to do some work for you. I don't think it costs very much money - if you share the same dealer I'm sure you might work out a good deal.'In short, a narcissist views others as objects on a chessboard, or tools, robots, the executioners of his will. One I know of, a private school principal, demonstrates the desperate compulsion narcissist have to control people. He is said to have nearly driven almost a thousand people to justifiable homicide by blasting over an hour's worth of nonstop orders over a blaring squawk box about what to do in an annual Christmas celebration that everybody had carried off without instructions for decades. Nobody can walk into a room and sit down without this clown telling them to sit somewhere else.'
Not sure where those negative comments really came from. My experience with South Lake was nothing but great. Everyone that we dealt with including the doctor and nursing staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. A management staff even came and asked us if there is any area for improvement, which was highly appreciated. I hope you never have to use their service, but if you do you can place your full trust on the people there.
Nurses I dealt with were a class act and doctors. Nurse with dread locks is awesome thanks so so so much... 7Even the volunteers and security the hole team there. Thank you. Was not fun only due to my illness. But staff was great and helpful. Thanks to er staff... people need to realize it's not an easy job the do. So treat them with respect... Karma... bless you all...
