Dark Horse Espresso bar serves one of the best coffees in the area but I would say their set up and atmosphere doesn’t match the book store vibes. I wouldn’t go there for the sit down experience but definitely for a to go latte!!
I really like this place. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. I love the variety of baked goods and other products. The coffee tastes great. I wish there was more than one choice for their brewed coffee, however.
A very nice cozy spot attached to Chapters, great for a quick coffee stop. Modest but thoughtful menu of desserts, treats and drinks, all of good quality. Pleasant and mostly quiet atmosphere. Take note that seating is limited, you might not find a seat during busy times.
Happen to swing by for my 1st taste. sourdough ginger chai cookie was yummiest although didn’t taste much of sourdough but it is really very tasty. Not sweet and taste of ginger and chai not overpowering but well balanced. Paired with Cortado and Macchiato caffeine punch. Well prepared.
Dark Horse really took me by surprise. I went in for a tea and discovered so many amazing things. The sour dough chocolate chip cookies are to die for, the matcha blows Starbucks out of the water. The people are amazing, the service is outstanding. Nothing but good things to say!
I ordered an espresso macchiato and an almond croissant. The servers were absolutely lovely, friendly and accommodating, offered to warm up my croissant and apologized for the wait as they were training new employees. Unfortunately the espresso was undrinkable, bitter and watery. The croissant was tough rather than fluffy and flaky but still quite tasty. The cafe itself is well designed and full of light, a pleasant space to sit and spend some time, if only they could make a good cup of espresso. I will not be returning.
Gluten Free doughnuts are to die for. Cappuccino tastes like a real cappuccino even with oat milk. Staff is friendly. if I’m close, I’m stopping by here over the green place.
