I have been to the place a few times. Last time I went which was very recent, the home potatoes had some after taste I did not like and didn'teat them. Not sure if it is the oil they use? Everything else was good especially the eggs and bacon. If they could get their potatoes cooked with some better flavour, seasoning. The service is always good. Lastly, when i was paying, the young staffer was standing there watching me punch in my pin number because the tap didn't work. It was inappropriate to do that even if there was no bad intentions. I would advise ownership to talk to the staff to give customers space and privacy when paying. I would have given a 5 rating if these 2 things were a non issue. I do plan to return however I hope they would address the 2 issues. If not, I have other options.
I genuinely don’t understand how this place is so highly rated. I ordered a poutine, and it was essentially soup. The chicken strips tasted like they came straight from the frozen section of a discount store—dry, flavorless, and reminiscent of cardboard. The bacon was so thin it could barely be seen, let alone tasted. The worst part, however, was discovering a thick curly black hair baked right between the two hash browns we ordered. None of us have black hair, so it was clearly not ours. When we brought this to the waiter’s attention, they simply said, “Oh, I see that,” but left the plate sitting on our table for 15 minutes. We finally had to move it ourselves to the counter. The resolution? They refunded us for only ONE hash brown, even though the other was part of the same contaminated plate—something we had already eaten before noticing the hair. In short, the food is mediocre at best, with low-quality ingredients that taste straight out of the freezer. The lack of basic hygiene, including the absence of hairnets, is alarming, and the service is indifferent and dismissive. It’s my observation that neither the quality of the food nor customer satisfaction is a priority here. I rarely write reviews, but this experience was bad enough to warrant one. I will not be returning and have already warned friends and family in the area to avoid this place.
Good food at decent prices served by friendly attentive people in a tiny pleasant diner. Favorite 'go to' for breakfast. Relatively quiet, and although all ages, I would call it senior friendly. Watch the step at the end of the sidewalk outside the restaurant. It always surprises me.
I never give reviews EVER but this was the worst breakfast/lunch our family has ever had. First of all it was so hot outside they had no a/c or even a fan on inside. We were sweating inside as well as the workers were sweating. The reviews for this place is very deceiving. The ingredients are very low quality. Home fries were frozen. The corned beef omelette was not even corn beef. It was spam and tasted like cardboard. The fries was the only fresh thing on the menu and had no taste or salt on it. Chicken fingers was rock hard. This place benefits from a bunch of seniors in the area that come for their senior special. Don’t go to this place you will be very disappointed. My wife didn’t even take more then three bites from her meal.
We came here for a post wedding brunch in march of 2022. The staff and breakfast at happy all day breakfast and lunch was fantastic! They are able to accommodate our 12 person table no questions asked. I had the two eggs and peameal bacon breakfast which was a huge portion and sooo good! Thank you happy all day breakfast and lunch!
