To begin , the front desk staff were very responsive and professional as my appointment was postponed by me twice. Now, the doctor was very professional and straight forward. He may not be very friendly throwing jokes and smiles but this is a personality thing. After examination he reviewed the results and a recap of his findings.
This doctor is unprofessional and has absolutely no bedside manner I waited for 2 hours past my appointment time. He did not apologize nor introduce himself. He was extremely unkind and dismissive of my pain. Told me to lay down and came at me with needles for the nerve test, without even explaining the procedure. The equipment itself seemed very outdated. He told me he could not find anything wrong. I asked him what next steps I should take, and he left the room without answering me. I waited 7 months for this appointment and left in tears feeling discounted and discouraged. Terrible doctor.
I’m writing to express deep concern regarding the treatment my mother received under the care of Dr. Sheikh, a neurologist we were referred to earlier this year. My mother has been experiencing unexplained and worsening symptoms for over two years. In April, she was referred to Dr. Sheikh and underwent an MRI shortly after. The results were reportedly normal, and she was cleared without further explanation. We returned to our family physician, but it took three and a half months for Dr. Sheikh’s notes and MRI results to be sent to them, significantly delaying further investigation and care. As her symptoms continued to worsen, we were once again referred to Dr. Sheikh, based on new observations and documentation from a recent physician who believed the symptoms were neurologically rooted. However, during our follow-up visit, Dr. Sheikh stated he had not received any of the notes. Only midway through the appointment did a receptionist bring in the documentation—but it was disregarded without proper consideration. What was most upsetting was Dr. Sheikh’s dismissive attitude during the appointment. He conducted only two brief assessments and, when my mother had difficulty completing one due to her worsening condition, he raised his voice at her. She was visibly upset and I saw her eyes water up, but too nervous to speak up. As her daughter, I was devastated watching her be treated with such disrespect and lack of compassion that I did speak up and told him to be patient with her. I left the office in tears feeling helpless and completely dismissed. After we left the office I went on to read the Google reviews and it seems that a lot of people have experienced the same amount of dismissal and disrespect We still have no answers, and this experience has shaken our trust in the healthcare system.
I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Abdul Shaikh. He came across as unfriendly during my appointment. Despite having lost the use of my left hand, he performed an outdated nerve test with needles and concluded that he couldn’t find anything wrong. I felt brushed off and not taken seriously. One month later, I saw a different neurologist who quickly diagnosed me with carpal tunnel syndrome. I’ve since had surgery and regained function. I trusted Dr. Shaikh to help me, but unfortunately, his approach and misdiagnosis delayed proper treatment and caused unnecessary stress. I would not recommend him based on my experience.
I had a very positive experience with Dr. Abdul Shaikh, despite seeing many negative reviews online. He conducted my EMG test himself and took the time to explain the issue clearly and patiently. In my opinion, he is a skilled and ethical physician. I truly don’t understand why he’s received such low ratings - I’m grateful for his care and professionalism.
The doctor brought the wrong file into the room so had to leave to get the right one. Minutes later he left again after a cell phone rang in the hallway., with only a mumbled apology when he returned. I was referred there for possible carpal tunnel, he did test for that and when he found the nerve wasn't being blocked in my wrist he didn't bother testing further to see where the problem with the nerve might be. Eight weeks later I couldn't use my hand because the problem became severe. I called his office to make a follow up appointment for further testing and was told I had to get a referral from my doctor. When i explained, again, that this would be a follow-up appointment, I was told they would have to speak to the doctor first and then call me back. They didn't call back. I called again a week later to ask why they hadn't called back. I had to leave a message that time because they didn't answer their phone all day. Again I asked for a call back, and didn't get one. I find this completely unprofessional. UPDATE: my appointment with Dr. Saikh was in late Feb. Saw my GP on May 17th - they hadn't received a report from his office with the test results. Surely two and a half months is enough time to get those sent. UPDATE 2: The day after I wrote this review the office called me with an appointment date. Could have been coincidence.... Saw the Dr again, so I now have a diagnosis to move forward with. Still can't give more stars though because this Dr has no 'bedside manners.' He is abrupt to the point of almost being rude.
Don’t waste your time. Get an appointment with someone else. The Dr Shaikh said that there was nothing neurological wrong with my wife. I questioned his diagnosis and he responded by saying he has been working as a neurologist for many years and for sure her problems are not neurological. Well he was 100 percentage wrong. A few month later we got a proper diagnosis. My Wife is suffering from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. This is a severe neurological disorder.
