My family and I have been very happy customers of Cocoa 40 from the beginning. We absolutely love the variety of delicious chocolate creations chef keeps coming up with. From meaningful gifts like the personalized chocolate bonbons, to simple hostess gifts, there is something at the shop for everyone. To top it all off, the gelato is out of this world. I’ve had the gelato cake on more than one occasion and they are always excellent. I’m so impressed with the creativity chef demonstrates in constantly creating new flavours, both with the gelato and the chocolates. I would highly recommend Cocoa 40 to anyone with a sweet tooth, or knows someone who loves chocolate as much as I do!
I really like this place, but unfortunately they don’t seem to follow their posted hours. Twice we went around 5:00–5:30 pm, and although they advertise being open until 6:00 pm, the shop was already closed. It’s disappointing, especially when you plan your visit based on the stated hours. I hope they update their schedule or stay open until the time they announce.
Gelato flavours change weekly and will depend on what fruit is in season. Contains real fruit, so is good for you? The caffé crema (like an espresso milkshake) is addictive!
I had a disappointing experience here. I politely asked to sample a flavor before ordering, and when I didn’t like it, I asked to try a second one. The staff member abruptly told me they only allow one sample. I understand if that’s the policy, but the way it was communicated felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive. It left a really negative impression. If you want customers to commit to a flavor without trying more than one, at least deliver that message with some courtesy.
