The staff at The Salvation Army are super attentive, kind, and helpful. The place is very clean, well-organized, and easy to browse. You can tell they really care about keeping everything in order and making visitors feel welcome. Great experience overall
Sometime back but it’s a reflection of the management and their comments. I was young and pregnant with my first baby and my mom and I were donating stuff. Manager approached me very rudely and asked me what I thought I was doing and what am I suppose to be doing…while eating a cracker as I wasn’t feeling well. I was caught off guard. She asked me again. I said I’m a I’m with my mom we are donating items. A full grown adult. Not a child and married at that. This demeanour of the employee manager to this day has really bother me. I really hope service can improve. I won’t go back. No apology from her nothing just an “oh”.
I usually love this store but today was not the best experience, last week I purchased a brand new yoga mat for $8 great price, went back this week to get 1 for a friend and a second mat for my gym. They only had 1 black mat (not new, not sealed, no straps) at the back sports area with a lot of left overs. So I brought up to the front and bought 1 new one purple for my friend and asked for a better price as not marked, not new and no straps. So Darlene called I guess the manager over but she gave it off to someone else and Darlene blurted sorry to waste your time, really, that manager should be pleased to help and why would you have to apologize for doing your job so I chirped oh yes sorry to waste your valuable time, lol, anyway someone came over and put a sticker on it for $7 and I really did not care but the whole attitude in that store sucked today and to top it off I just donated a great winter coat/bag set that will easily fetch them $20. I was not impressed with Darlene's attitude and the manager well she was worthless. But still love that store. From the Oracle.
Was looking for a particular kitchen appliance. Found it. Could test it right there. Discovered few minutes later was missing a part. Went back couldn't find it on the shelf. Staff should ideally bag things with multiple components. I believe a mile away is Mission Thrift which I know pre tests and bags. Price at about 20% of new was good so cannot complain. Missing part can be substituted so will work for me.
The Salvation Army Thrift Store is essential for my conscientious donations: knowing the value will be utilized to help others in need - either materially or through the caring support of various Services provided!
Haven't thrifted in a while but the prices have jumped up! A double sheet was $12.99 (which would be $5.99 at a different thrift store) Everyone at the cash was asking if there was a discount today and the reply was no. Not even said that nicely. I asked specifically for seniors discount which is every day at 10%. Pretty sure the lady in front of me was a senior and it wasn't even mentioned to her. Either way it should have been mentioned but hey they keep more money if they don't tell their customers. Might get customers going back if they do .
