My daughter really enjoyed the past two weeks at the music and art camps. Every day when she came home, she told me what she had learned and how much fun she had. We’re planning to join their regular program in September. The teachers are also very friendly and kind!
I first reached out to this place on January 20th regarding lessons for my daughter. Despite multiple emails and phone calls, I received little to no response. After months of being ignored, we finally got in for an assessment on April 10th. I was then sent the registration forms that same day. On April 11th, I let them know I was driving two hours to get a violin so my daughter could begin lessons on the agreed-upon day—Monday. I submitted the completed forms and confirmation that Monday, only to be told the time slot was no longer available. I had clearly communicated the day and time we needed for months. I was then told the forms were only received 30 minutes prior, and later that they had been walked in on Friday—conflicting information. I was also told, “I’m not in the business of chasing clients,” which was incredibly frustrating considering I had been the one persistently reaching out for months. Extremely disappointing and unprofessional customer service. I would not recommend this business based on my experience.
My son was enrolled in the summer music/art camp program this month and was thrilled to be able to practice the violin and ukulele while also completing art pieces. He found the music instructor approachable, and when we got home, he enthusiastically completed his homework assignments and asked to enroll in additional weeks. In fact, he didn't want to come home at the end of the day because he was enjoying himself so much. The owner ensures the atmosphere is very friendly so that each student feels welcome to participate.
I witnessed constant interruptions and distractions for my child's private lessons week after week. Be aware that they also run after school care program here and have very little control over the kids that cause excessive noise and even barging into private lesson sessions. When this concern was expressed to owner/director, seeking for a resolution, it was was not at all managed with the kind of professionalism and compassion I would expect, much to my disappointment. Rather I was simply told that it's something that just happens and that I should consider another instructor or find less busy time. I can go in to details about the mismanagement, lack of communication, and the sort of interruptions which are just unacceptable; however will simply not recommend here for people seeking quality learning. Extremely disappointing experience
Eva and team take great care of our children for music instruction and after-school. They are kind, caring and professional when teaching music and musical theatre. They are always willing to go the extra mile to make sure the children receive the best care in their lessons. My children have taken - at various times - piano, flute, clarinet, ukulele, recorder and they practise at home and in the car without prompting, showing that they look upon music as fun - a wonderful testament to the teaching team. I would recommend Harmonic Melodies to everyone, young and old.
