I ordered the chicken souvlaki dinner, and as someone who has eaten at many Greek restaurants, I was really disappointed—especially for the price. The chicken was very dry and had an odd flavor, possibly from the paprika on top, which didn’t seem appropriate. The rice was overcooked and mushy. The potatoes were the best part of the meal, but even those were still a bit firm and could have used more time in the oven. The tzatziki was heavy on the dill and tasted overpowering, and the portion size for the price was absurd—$3.75 for a very small dipping cup. I’m glad I didn’t order the larger size after hearing it was $14. Overall, if you’re looking for Greek food while at the mall, I’d recommend sticking with Jimmy the Greek upstairs or finding a Mr. Greek instead. I won’t be returning here, as the food was overcooked and overpriced for what you get

We ordered gyro with fries. After waiting for 30 minutes, they gave us souvlaki on rice. When we took it back to let them know this is not our order, they didn’t even apologize but just said-“oh ok”. They didn’t even offer to make our order and we asked for the money back. I asked where our order was and how long would it take to be made- they said they don’t know where the order went, were very indifferent and didn’t care at all to make up for their mistake.

The Hungry Donkey Restaurant is an excellent place to indulge your desire for genuine Greek cuisine! I had the chicken souvlaki Pita, and Fries, it was absolutely cooked to perfection!!! We also ordered the chicken souvlaki dinner. Comes with rice and potatoes and pita. This was also very tasty.!!! I’m looking forward to returning here and bringing my family along. First Time Eating Here !!

I had one of the best Greek food experiences at The Hungry Donkey! I ordered the chicken gyro — it was delicious, made with high-quality ingredients, and filling yet light on the stomach. Definitely recommend!

took them over 15 minutes to make one single thing for me and i was on break so half of my break was wasted waiting for my food while one of the cooks kept walking around the store as if my order hasn’t been made yet, food is great but would be better if i got it sooner than later

Probably THE BEST Chicken Souvlaki I’ve ever had. The tenderness, juiciness, seasoned so tasty and cooked to perfection. The generous amount of QUALITY chicken breast blew me away first! The warmed fresh wrap and Tzatziki sauce made me roll my eyes to the back of my head. It was so darn delicious! I usually order pork souvlaki at Greek restaurants because I’m always afraid of being disappointed by dry chicken breast. These kabobs are prepared and cooked with love and perfection. The sauce is balanced and you can taste every herb. I love that they lay their crispy delicious fries right on top. I love to pick them out and eat them separately but I get it! It’s brilliant. Every single bite had a huge piece of juicy chicken. I’ve also enjoyed their pork souvlaki and spanakopita. Service is always lovely, helpful and efficient. I highly suggest you have the Epsa Iced Tea Peach drink. It goes great with this cuisine.

Noticed this new Greek place at Upper Canada Mall Market today that replaced a lobster roll/fish n chips place (that wasn't memorable at all), and was excited to find that almost everything they used was imported from Greece. I noticed the sign saying that all wraps had fries in it, which sparked fond memories of my vacation in Santorini and Athens. I havn't seen many places outside of Greece put fries in their wraps and understandably so, because if the fries aren't made to perfection, who would want to take bite after bite of a handful of heavy mediocre fries? So being cautiously reluctant, I opted for the souvlaki with pita and fries. I asked for one chicken skewer and one pork skewer instead of both the same and even though that wasn't on the menu, the server pleasantly obliged. I did have to wait 10 minutes or so but it was worth the wait as they made it fresh. When I sat down at the food court and opened the take out box, my nose was presented with the fresh authentic Greek spice aromas that I've not quite experienced in the same manner since I was in Greece! The flavors were extraordinary! The chicken and pork souvlaki was marinated well and cooked to perfection. And the fries were dare I say the best fries I've ever eaten, better than New York Fries, better than McDonald's fries, better than any Michelin star restaurant fries I've had (I just ate at Canada's #1 restaurant on Friday too, although they didn't have fries and I spent over 40x the amount of today's meal albeit for two, I didn't have the same inclination to write a review, as I usually don't and didn't for that particular restaurant.) And the fresh pita was remarkable as well! Right amount of crispy and flavorful while being soft on the inside! As such, I could totally see myself enjoying a wrap with these amazingly crispy on the outside, the right amount of softness on the inside, and perfect amount of spice in a wholesome wrap / gyro and will be thrilled to try next time. Fresh ingredients, amazing authentic food, friendly service, reasonably priced; what more could you ask for? Highly recommended

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that your order took longer than expected. .Unlike other places inside the mall, we cook our items made to order, therefore, depending on what exactly was ordered and also how busy we are on the time some items may take longer to prepare. If you were in a rush, you can always call ahead to place an order. once again, our sincere apologies. Thank you
